We had some great weather this weekend, and I’m finally feeling like spring is on its way! I should be able to get my indoor herb garden started up again in another week or so, but in the meantime I’m getting in the spirit with some spring flowers!
How fun are those colors?!
I have a little confession to make: fake flowers are my absolute favorite! They come in a million colors and styles, they last forever, and I’m not allergic to them! Plus, they are ALWAYS on sale at the Michael’s near us, so it’s a win-win!
So to bring a bit of spring indoors this weekend, I decided to do a super simple project with these flowers and a bit of ribbon!
All you need are:
- some flowers
- a jar or vase
- ribbon(s)
I cleaned out an old pickle jar for this project. These flowers are big and bushy, and they need a short, squat vase to offset that. If I put these flowers in a tall vase they’d just look silly.
Start by decorating your jar or vase. I picked out a thick yellow ribbon and a skinny, bright green one because I love the idea of one or two ribbons tied around the vase. It gives the display a bit of color you might not find in the flowers.
I used a tiny dab of glue to hold the yellow ribbon ends together at the back of the jar, then tied a length of the green ribbon in a bow on the front.
It’s easy, simple, and fun; just the way I like it!
I’m really loving these flowers! They’re happy and festive and they help brighten up the apartment!
Are you decorating for spring yet? I decorated for St. Patrick’s Day already, but I gotta get some stuff up for Easter pretty soon here!

Great idea! I love the flowers you chose and I’d actually be able to keep these “alive” for a while!
